Warehouse Associate/Driver

Fort Worth, TexasFull-time
$18 - $20 hourly
About the Job
Winsupply of Fort Worth is seeking a highly motivated and reliable Warehouse Associate / Driver to be a core part of our operations team. This role primarily focuses on warehouse duties—receiving, stocking, order fulfillment, and organization—with the safe and efficient operation of a box truck for local deliveries and pickups as a critical secondary function. The ideal candidate has a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining a safe, organized warehouse while possessing an excellent driving record.

Responsibilities:
Warehouse Operations (Approximately 70-90% of time, varies by business need):
  • Order Fulfillment: Accurately pick, pack, label, and stage orders efficiently according to customer specifications or shipping manifests.
  • Receiving & Stocking: Unload incoming shipments, verify contents against purchase orders, inspect for damage, and accurately count, sort, and tag materials.
  • Organization: Stock shelves, racks, and designated storage areas in an organized manner.
  • Custom Cutting: Cut ductboard to specified dimensions for orders.
  • Safety & Maintenance: Operate warehouse equipment safely, such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks (certification may be required or provided). Maintain a clean, safe, and organized warehouse environment.
  • Inventory Support: Assist with inventory counts and reconciliation as needed.
  • Collaboration: Follow all safety procedures and work collaboratively with the team to ensure smooth operations.

Driving Support (Approximately 10-30% of time, varies by business need):
  • Local Deliveries: Operate 16ft and 26ft box trucks safely and efficiently for local deliveries and pickups within the Fort Worth and surrounding North Texas areas.
  • Loading/Unloading: Load and unload the truck using appropriate equipment (hand trucks, pallet jacks, lift gates) while following all safety protocols.
  • Documentation: Verify accuracy of deliveries/pickups, obtain necessary signatures, and complete delivery paperwork accurately.
  • Truck Maintenance: Perform required pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly.
  • Compliance: Adhere to all traffic laws, DOT regulations, and company safety policies.
  • Communication: Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and warehouse personnel regarding delivery schedules or issues.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in a warehouse or distribution environment is required.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 75 pounds regularly.
  • Valid Texas Driver's License with a clean driving record (no major violations).
  • Some experience operating a box truck or similar commercial vehicle is preferred (but not the primary requirement).
  • Forklift certification preferred but not required (training and certification may be provided).
  • Class C Driver's License preferred. (A 26ft box truck typically does not require a CDL as long as its Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) is under 26,001 lbs, which is common for these sizes. If any truck exceeds this, a CDL will be required.)
  • Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and complete delivery manifests, invoices, and other documents.
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.

Working Conditions:
  • Work is performed primarily in the indoor warehouse environment, with some exposure to outdoor weather conditions during the driving component.
  • Regular exposure to dust, noise, and varying temperatures in the warehouse.
  • Frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting, and carrying.
  • Driving for occasional extended periods, potentially in various traffic conditions.
  • May require occasional overtime, weekend, or holiday work based on business needs.

Benefits:
  • Competitive salary.
  • Health insurance.
  • Dental insurance.
  • Vision insurance.
  • Paid time off.
